The world of ESID

The one word I grew accustomed to very quickly! ESID…. everything is ESID! When it comes to forums discussing JET… Reddit comment sections are filled with it.

So what does it mean? Every Situation Is Different.

And nothing sums up the JET experience better. From the moment you apply, ESID invites itself into your life, like that meowing beast that woke me up three blog entries ago.

It confidently walks into your life, makes itself at home on your sofa, puts up its feet, and seamlessly becomes part of the furniture. ESID can make one person’s experience amazing or another person full of anxiety.

But this is all part of the experience itself. My own experiences very quickly were different from others. I was jumping through various hoops on all of my medical forms. Only because I had the big sad that one time.

Every person's story is unique, and different parts of Japan operate differently. Schools can vary from place to place. The weather, the people, and even the level of organization in each area ESID. What truly matters is that you go into this experience ready to be friends with ESID. There will be long waits, but I am from the cold, wet UK, the home of queuing.… the champions of waiting in lines.

I have begun to view things more positively, knowing that this is just a part of my journey. All part of the memories I will make along the way. There will be times when it’s tough or I get homesick, miss that furry beast back in the UK. But there will be many, many times when I look back and thank that fluffy animal for sparking that idea.
