Saga Day 1

Temperature - 39 Degrees

Food eaten - Curry Rice and Caramel Ice Cream.

The first information I ever received before arriving in Saga was that it was hot here. And they were not lying. I was greeted by the coolest poster, Zombieland Saga being on the poster made me very happy as the anime was all about promoting Saga. The girls did so well that they made it onto the real-life Welcome to Saga sign.

The heat was like a wall; an invisible wall that decided it liked you so much it wanted to be all over you. Saga however was very picturesque, with fields and some beautiful old buildings. Imagine a proper anime old home, with curved decorative roofs and a little wall around the edge.

I had practiced hard on the plane to get my greeting written down in my little black book. But was the little black book with me when I did my greeting? No, it went for a walk and I ended up telling everyone I liked cats and ramen. Hopefully clear enough so they didn’t think I was a monster that enjoyed eating cats.

The day was a long one, but it felt like a weight had lifted now. My suitcases were waiting for me and I am still surrounded by unpacking that needs to be done.

But I have navigated on my bike and also experienced a konbini in person! Things will be challenging but this is the gamble I took. There is a scary-looking spider outside on the letter boxes, the aircon is making me really cough. All new aspects in my ESID story!

My konbini trip saw me stock my fridge with my beloved C.C Lemon! The journey has only just begun. Tune into the next blog entry as Kyushu moves the earth… Literally.
