Merry Go Round of Life

Temperature - 38 C

Food eaten - Rice Balls

Life is slowly falling into a pattern. The sun rudely wakes me before my alarm, and the cicadas kick up a fuss when you step outside. Saga has this sleepy vibe to it. It’s quiet and follows its own pace, usually a slower one. It is jarring when I think this time last month, I was probably panicking over packing, chilling in 24-degree heat, and wondering what awaits me.

I am adjusting and still have a lot I want to buy for my home. Home isn’t feeling like home yet. I miss a few creature comforts and still haven’t gotten used to food. All things I would never have known I would miss. The crazy hang-ups after flying halfway across the world?

But, I am grateful to the people who have made the crash landing softer. Not every day is a big adventure, though I do have a very beautiful entry about Kashima coming up, so stay tuned for that.

Right now my biggest goal is the find a rhythm, and start settling in properly. The language barrier still causes stress and an interaction where something goes wrong is a headache. But Japan has thrown many amazing things in my direction. I climbed a mountain and looked over Saga, I saw the many tori gates and Kami paths of a beautiful shrine. My love for Japanese folklore is being rewarded truly.

My story has only just begun.
