Fukuoka the perfect anime date?

Temperature - 35

Food eaten - Shaved ice … Mc Ds

After visiting my western neighbor, I traveled east to Fukuoka. The atmosphere was very different; it truly lived up to its nickname as Kyushu’s Tokyo. Everything you need is here. Fukuoka has you covered if you want to indulge in your favorite anime merch. Do you need a T-shirt with the slogan I love FUK… it’s here. Want a picture by FUK coffee…also covered! The itinerary was to hit up the Aquarium and just explore what the mini-metropolis has too offer.

The day strangely played out like an anime episode where a boy takes a girl to the aquarium to see cute stuff and eat shaved ice. My first was finally in Japan! worth the wait. Upon finishing the supposed awkward date scene the two leave and the girl asks… do you think there will be any fireworks? Boy says nah. Boom the anime gods answer the call and provide a fantastic view of impromptu fireworks.

The scene then changes to stumbling upon a summer festival with Taiko and dancing!

Now I was with my fellow ALTS so this was not the context, but it would have been perfect for a date. So bare that one in mind if you intend to visit with a partner or date.

I made the mistake of trying McDonald’s in Japan, craving just a little familiarity I guess. But I ended up very ill and skipping out on ramen. I have noticed right now my eating is a mess, maybe 1 meal a day, maybe just a snack. I am certain I will fall into a routine sooner or later. But I am certainly on track for my diet.

Japan’s many prefectures are full of unique flavors and they each have their charms. My heart may belong to Nagasaki right now, but I intend to return and discover more of what my Eastern neighbor has too offer.
